29. South Downs Way charity challenge
Posted by Garrick McMullin on Wed 9 Nov 2011, 09:52

Mud Island Adventures is a small group of outdoor fitness and adventure sports enthusiasts based in the Salisbury area.
On 7th Jan 2012 2 members of the group, Garrick McMullin and Marc Hughes, will be taking on the 100 mile South Downs Way from Winchester to Eastbourne by mountain bike. The challenge is to complete the route in around 12 hours whatever the weather!

We are doing this in aid of forces charity Pilgrim Bandits (www.pilgrimbandits.com)who are dedicated to helping injured service men and women.

Further to that we are also riding to raise awareness of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)and the devastating affect it can have on forces members and their families.

If you want to donate to this worthy cause you can do by going to www.bmycharity.com/mudislandadventures
If you'd like to show your support for what we are doing please follow us on twitter (@MIAdventures) or join us on facebook.
There will be updates on the day as well as progress reports on our training.

Thank you for reading.

Garrick.

22. Grid Reference Conversions
Posted by Walk and Cycle on Tue 26 Apr 2011, 10:14

We have converted the grid references of all Walk and Cycle trails and trails designed by readers to latitude and longitude rather than the O/S national grid reference system. It means that in the future we will be able to use more mapping tools and services, which hopefully will improve the Walk and Cycle site further.

The changes should be invisible to you when reading trails and using the interactive maps but if you encounter any problems please let us know.

Some browsers may still attempt to use the old code so before designing a new route using Trail Designer we recommend that you force a full page refresh (hold down the Ctrl key and click on page refresh; Ctrl key and F5 in Firefox - in some browsers you may need to do it a couple of times!).
